The new venza are to new for anyone to answer that question. However Toyota hybrid from what I have read are one generation behind what is currently being used in the prius. So if your really interested look at their track record.

This may help. We had a 2006 Lexus RX400h. The 1st year for the hybrid RX. All wheel drive. We traded it in in 2016 for a non-hybrid RX350, 2 wd. Last week, we bought a 2021 Venza Limited. We missed the hybrid ”feeling”. 145,000 troublefree miles with the 2006 and 45,000 troublefree miles on the 2016.

Rightly or wrongly, we bought the Platnum Toyota policy 10/125K warranty - never bought an extended warranty ever before but the tech features could really be expensive to repair.

Back to the reliability concerns. The 400h had gen 1 technology while the 2006 Prius had Gen 2. Prius is the test bed. Same today, as I understand. Plus, there is some track record with the current RAV4 hybrid. I’m not concerned about the drivetrain of the Venza. But, 10 years on all the electronics? The reason for the extended warranty.

The engine itself is the same one used in the non-hybrid.
Educated estimates based on the engine design are 200,000+, though the hybrid could potentially go longer due to the reduced engine run time when in EV operation.
The hybrid systems themselves have been very reliable, 150,000+ on the original battery is not uncommon and Toyota runs the warranty on the hybrid system to 100,000.
The actual transmission is probably the most bulletproof part of the system... three gears and a planetary set. No clutches, bands, chains, belts, or torque convertor.

Proper maintenance will go a long way. You can kill one of these in less than 50,000 if it's not maintained and otherwise abused.

I over maintain and am very easy on vehicles, but kill one in less that 50,000 miles? What makes the Venza so delicate?

My 2013 Toyota Venza with a 4-cylinder engine has driven from New England to California twice, from Boston to Alaska, and on many trips to Canada, accumulating 260,000 miles. I always ensure to change the transmission fluid regularly. It’s still going strong.
