Hi everyone. I am a long time lurker, but first time poster (on here). I just picked up the perfect project Camry that I have been hunting for the last 2 months yesterday and I figured I would share. Well I will let the pictures do the talking and I will explain my plans below :

So as you can see it is a 1993 Camry V6 5SPD. A little rough, but only has 185,000kms, and I got it for........wait for it....... $500! It had been sitting for a year, but with fresh oil and new battery it fired up, and everything works perfectly. Brand new gas tank and P205/65R15 BF Goodrich Winter Slalom winter tires on alloy wheels (which I am selling if anyone local to eastern ontario is interested PM me!!). Obviously it needs brakes and alot of TLC, but I am a licensed tech and it will get it. Here is my plan for it :

I just recently sold my MR2 project car I was working on as a shell, and figured rather than selling the rebuilt 3SGTE engine I have I would put it to good use. The engine is fully rebuilt with a Cometic headgasket, new pistons, bearings, JDM head with no EGR, I have a CT20B with 540CC injectors and all the electronics to go with it. So over the winter I will be posting lots of pics of the progress and I will be selling all the unneeded parts (engine, mounts, old exhaust etc..) so if anyone needs any of that, let me know. Any comments, questions or anything else is welcome and requested.

you prolly already read it but just in case, i say dont worry with the 5s block or crank swap leave it as is, you can rev higher due to a truer square set-up.

welcome, it's going to be nice to see this done again, and if your lying or flake out i'm comming to the gta and slapping you around

3vz SE model! (Well, LE Sport for Canada.) You're LUCKY! But why swap to a turbo 4cyl? Recondition the 3VZ and do a turbo build. :) :welcome: to TN!

awesome score man, looks like one hell of a project. you could likely sell the 3sgte and have more then enough for a quality turbo build on your 3vz and could avoid having to swap and retrofit parts into the stock car. just a thought....either way it will be awesome.

I'm doing the swap because I can, and because it hasn't been done verymuch. I already have the motor and I have alot of money into it, so i'd rather keep it. Also, it will be a DD, so running the stock GEN3 MR2 electronics will give me reliablity and the power I am looking for.

UPDATES!!!

Body work, lots of body work!

And I picked up a set of used KYBs and Eibach Pro-kit as well as some used Hankook Ventus 205/40R17 tires for some rims I already had (ADR Revolutions, and I have the centre caps, just didn't put them on). I think I will sell these tires shortly though and pick up some taller ones. Suggestions? I tinted the taillights, ordered a black centre panel, short shifter, clear bumper lights, replaced both front lower balljoints, both outer tie rod ends, all 4 s-links, and the front lower control arm bushings. Also replaced all the brakes, but I haven't painted the calipers yet as I want to make sure they are all OK as they had to be super heated to unseize them. And I also installed...

OBX-R 3 inch cat back exhaust and new catalytic converter. The exhaust was bought off Ebay and is for the 97-01 Camry V6. It is high quality and sounds great, it also fit perfect once new hangers were fabbed up. Anyway, lots of work left, I will update again once the body work is done.
