Hi Nation, I have been looking all over the internet including this very forum and TIS site but cannot find what I am looking for. I need wiring diagram/pinout for the passenger airbag on/off indicator for 2013 Highlander Limited with JBL and 2013 faceplate (with faux knobs). I am installing aftermarket Android head unit with the frame that has physical buttons but it does not have airbag on/off indicator circuit it seems and so I get SRS error on MFD. If I plug in original frame the error goes away (as you can see below in the last pic). Aftermarket HU has indicators for immobilizer and passenger seat belt. Seller of the aftermarket head unit in China said they'd look into a solution for this but in meantime I was hoping if I can get some help finding a wiring diagram so I can come up with simple LED circuit. I worked out all the other connection/hardware issues and this is the last one to solve. I have signed up for TIS and there is no schematics for this faceplate on there...

I should clarify I said it was not on TIS - I meant exact connector my car has. I did find airbag indicator, immobilizer indicator, passenger seatbelt indicator but they all go to E19 connector which is what was used in 2008-2010 models and my Highlander does not have it. Wire colors don't match either, e.g. as you can see from my original post there is no blue wire at all but diagram shows it. There is a list of all connectors used in the diagram but neither of the ones that jbl faceplate uses are there. That is why I am asking for help here.

2009 Hybrid Limited with Nav/JBL. Replacing factory with Pioneer. All done and working. However, I can't buy the Toyota Part No.: 84010-0E040-E0 Control & Panel Assembly as it is backordered everywhere and no delivery in sight. I am putting a Panel in from Australia that does not have the Airbag light. All good, make an LED circuit as prostomike discussed or just connect the airbag wires to the old circuit card and place behind dash. So far no problems. I now have to take my 7 remaining wires and connect to Australian panel. Here's where the fun begins My E19 wires are in completely different pins and there are some color differences. I went to TIS entered my VIN and tracked all the wires. Does not match what I got. TIS says 2 blue wires, I have one. I have an orange wire, TIS says none. Pin 4 is empty, TIS says 10 should be empty. Only color that is correct is Black is in 1. What am I missing? thanks

I found this from 2012. What is described as White E10 plug is the connector I have. Still doesn't tell me what each wire is...

I can't find any references to that midget harness anywhere (my FSM, EWD, online part stores, or my usual sources of OEM part #s). Its like it doesn't exist, it may be sold as a unit with the nav itself. That part of the reason I didn't think it existed.

If I have time this weekend, I'll map out the harness (I take it that's just a pic you found, do you have that harness? I'm a bit confused)
I do not have the harness. But I was able to email the seller of that unit and he kindly sent over the wiring for each plug.

White E10 plug: looking from wires toward plug
Gray - Blue - Green - Yellow - Orange
Black - Brown - White - BLANK - Red

Black E19 Plug: Looking from wires toward plug
Red - Yellow - Blue - White - Black
Oragnge - Green - Grey - Brown - BLANK
-----------------CLIP----------------------

I am guessing it is also only sold with the NAV unit as toyota has no knowledge of it. Several wreckers say they keep all harness' together. LKQ has one on ebay but will not separate it.

I have the E19 Plug on the way to make my own harness, talked to 10 or so wreckers that have the Nav unit for sale but no harness extension.

Thanks for looking. I have this part, bought it from Australia. It has a different connector/wire colors and does not have the SRS indicator. Slowly, by measuring voltages, I’m trying to understand my connector pin out. I think I‘ve got the Hazard button pins on both sides identified. If I can id the smart key pins and the seat belt pins, I can install this part. SRS will just be connected to old panel and stuck behind the dash. SRS circuit must be connected or you get a constant error message on your display

Ok, I see where the confusion is - I was just as confused at the beginning myself as you can see from my OP.
There is only one E19 connector and it is black - it terminates the harness on the car side and all models for Gen2 Highlanders have it. The white connector in your pictures may look similar to E19 but it is not that. In fact, for instance, my 2013 doesn't even have that white kind of connector (you can see that in the pics in the OP). Start tracing wires from your head unit side and you will find black E19 with the wires matching the diagrams. Whatever connects to E19 can have diff wire colors so matching those between models and model years is impossible (again take a look at my pics - nothing matches there). Moreover, my aftermarket frame wires for this hook up were all purple :) I had to take a multimeter and map out wires from E19 to whatever I had on the frame to understand what is what. The pic that Luc has posted above shows that little extension from the panel which on one side has male connector that hooks into E19 and other side could be whatever.

In your post from years ago, you said you didn’t have an E19. Did you eventually find it? I saw how your E19 functions were split up.
So you are saying that I have the famous undocumented pigtail. I didn’t even think about looking further up the wire. Thanks. I just buttoned everything up and gave up on further functionality but this is worth opening it back up. I was so happy to have hole covered after 9 months

well, this wasn't years ago, just last year :) but anyway, yes, I did find it and then it all made sense. I am not sure why Toyota did not document the pieces that do connect to E19 - I get that there are different versions for diff years/trims, but we are only talking about a handful variations... In any case, if you trace from your white connector you will find similar connector to the one we see in Luc's picture that is hooked up to E19. The biggest confusion is this white connector on the panel looks very similar to E19 and when I was searching this forum initially I found similar pic and thought it was E19 and if course my trim did not have that white connector. The crucial bit that I missed was the color of the connector. There can only be one :) If the diagram says it is black then anything that is not is a different connector no matter how similar it may look. This is true for any connector.

There are 2 versions of the "E19" connector for: (1) 2008-2012 non-navigation JBL/non-JBL units that uses the 84010-0E040-E0 Control & Panel Assembly for hazard/SRS/passenger seat belt and 2013 JBL/non-JBL units that uses the 2013 bezel, both with a black connector, and (2) 2008-2012 navigation JBL units that uses the factory radio with a white connector. @fillip57, your connector isn't wrong, just different and nowhere in the 2009 wiring diagrams that I could find the E19 white connector and the color identification. However, the pinouts between the black and white E19 connectors should be the same, it's more of figuring out what the pinouts are on the Australian control & panel assembly.

After reading these 2 posts above, I had to go out and look. Thanks to both of you for spending time researching for me. And the answer is—yes there is an E19. Thank you Toyota for wasting all our time by not pointing out that there are 2 connectors in a row.
On another subject, I believe have Aussie connector pins figured out. Security light and Hazard switch share a ground (3 wires), hazard button light (2wires) and the passenger seat belt (2 wires).

You have to understand that every region/nation has their own specifics that manufacturer build towards. These 3rd companies build towards that specifics and there aren't any guarantees they will be compatible with North American models, even though they're all Highlanders. There are likely NHTSA rules that vehicle manufacturers have to satisfy for compliance.

I have a 2010 highlander limited. Had an audio company install a Linkswell unit, but the Airbag and Hazard light connections which are integral with the factory unit did not come with the Linkswell. I've bought two different buttons (one from Toyota, and one from the Ali express site). Both were the wrong connector size. I'm assuming they are for non-nav vehicles. Are there other buttons that will connect, or do I have to replace the Linkswell with another factory unit to get the airbags and hazard lights to work? what's the fix? thanks. Very frustrating. Not getting any help from the Linkswell company or the installer. Hope this thread is still being monitored.
