Good evening and thanks in advance to those who answer. I have a 2017 Camry with the 2.5 2AR-FE engine. The car has 53,500 miles and has had the oil changed every 5,000 miles. I noticed what looks to be oil seep on the front passengers side of the engine. Is this possibly a bad valve cover gasket? Would it be replaced under the power train warranty?

I have a 2014.5 Camby Hybrid and it seems to seep a very smal leak of oil at the valve and or timing cover on passenger side. it has 90k miles on it. usually I never see anything leak or break on new Toyotas under 150k miles. Sad. Could be the bolts, nuts need tightening. It still has the orignal spark plugs in the engine.

Our engine with 110k miles has similar markings. Not sure if it is something weeping or just oil from sloppy oil changes as @Pvt-Public noted above. The stains appear to be old and baked on.

Last weekend, we changed the spark plugs; the coils, plugs, and "holes" were perfectly clean. So in our case, if this is a weeping valve cover gasket, the failure is not "massive".

We cleaned the engine area and will keep an eye for any future weeping or leaks.

I am going the sepage check on my 2014.4 Camry Hybrid have it checked when the first spark plugs are changed out at the 120k miles checkup, but now it is at 100k miles. I cleaned my valve cover (passenger side) a while back. With all the new cars I have owned in the lasted 30 years, this is the first time there was a leak, since my 1979 Dodge van. The Hondas and Toyotas I bought new never leaked until they are were old. A bit disappointed.

Does anybody have updates on their timing chain cover? I have seepage on the passenger side to the left of the barcode. It's very dirty in the back and as it gets closer to the front it dries up but it's still a little greasy, maybe old.

I ran my finger through it and did not feel anything new oil. Also, did not see a trail of oil making its way to the ground. The belt is dry as well. Is it possible that the leak could have sealed itself over time?

Does anyone know where the oil will trail towards or what will become dirty with oil from this type of leak?
