Hey,

I am going to change my front strut mounts, and while I'm at it, I was thinking of changing the struts aswell.

I got hold of some inserts, but not sure how to exactely proceed.

Do they come out easily when I take the springs out and vice verca.

Thanks!

First, hopefully you have serviceable struts... There will be a thin nut (called a gland nut) visible at the top of the strut body if you do have serviceable struts. If not, the top will be welded in place.

Once you get the strut out (and the springs, etc. off it), all you have to do is loosen the nut, pull out the factory insert and put the new one in place. Leave a bath of oil in there to help transfer heat from the strut to the outer strut body. Put the nut back on and re-assemble.
