Throttle Position Percentage???

I love my 2011 Camry XLE! What I don't love is that the throttle is very sensitive when starting from a stop! The car will accelerate too quickly when I first press the throttle if I'm not very careful... plus the pedal is very easy to press because it's so smooth.

It runs very well, and I just cleaned the throttle body, which fixed the low idle issue. Also, when I plug in my OBD2 scanner, it gives me 19.2% TP with no throttle and 82.4% with pedal on the floor. The response when pressing the pedal seems linear with the scanner.

Is this normal for my car? Is there a fix or mod to make the pedal less sensitive?

If the throttle was at "0%", no air would go into the engine... ever. So yes, 20ish% is normal at idle. The way the car feels is just the nature of electronic throttle control. That is the nature of the beast.

+1 on ^....been touchy since at least 2005...dbw...
assuming you did truly clean the tb correctly and there's no ridge left that the butterfly has to overcome to open, then just chalk it up to technology 'advancement'.
