Hi all,
I didn't order the extra tint , but don't the front windows ( drivers & pass.) have some tint?
What percent tint are they stock?
What I want to do is make the front windows the same tint as the rear windows.
Any info on this?

Tinting the front windows

I recently purchased a 2009 Venza and wanted the front windows tinted to match the others. The shop told me the standard is 20% (lets in 20% of the light). I told him to match it, so he put in the 20% 3M Color Stable tint. When I was driving home I noticed the new tint was slighly darker than the original window tint on the back side windows. From the outside it looks the same. I would have preferred to have the 30% now that I can see the difference.

Does anyone knows the factory tint %, need to know in order
to match the front windows.

50% tint

Does anyone know what percentage the factory tints are? If anyone got their tints done please post pictures :D
When I had mine done the guy said the stock looked 50%. That is not legal for the fronts in my state so I had 35% put on them, all 4.

Here a photo:

Not 100% sure on the Venza, but the privacy tint on my truck was about 15%. Same for my company car. You can tint over it and make it darker with no problem other than seeing out at night but you'll get busted big time if you do the same darkness to the two front sides.

Meelinda,

I think you're really close at 35 on the rears. As you know we have NO SHORTAGE of tint shops here in so cal. Find a reputable shop and they will help you get exactly what you want.

Ok, clouds are down and sun's out. Take better pic now. Preferably from the side looking thru the vehicle which will show how the visibility is looking outside in.

Also, first you said all 30% but then you said all except front? Just curious as to what is on the fronts if not 30%?

But looks good, regardless.....

i just tinted my 2011 venza,s front windows
i told them, when i look at the car i don't want to see any differences
the guy said he is gonna do his best
but still there is a differences between colors, factory one much darker...
he also told me he can't tint triangle little windows because of florida rules...

I just got my front windows done. I first said I would also like it to match the factory tint. Here in PA its illegal to do the front windows. So he recommended just to do a shade lighter. Though I forgot to ask the percentage he installed

At a angle you can see a difference, but it's not enough for me to care. I love the way it looks now.

You are correct, that was a typo, it should have been 20%! The law in Ohio is that the fronts cannot be less than 50%, but I didn't like the way that would have looked so I went with 35%.

I think they look good at 35%, I didn't want to go all the way down to 20% because it is easier to spot and I want to avoid any Imperial entanglements!

% of rear window tint to match for front window tint

Hi,

I am considering to have front window tint on my 2012 venza.

As I know, if I request it at dealershop, they do lighter one than rear window.

So I would like to do it at private automobile shop other than dealershop.

If so, could you recommend any private automobile shop in Toronto Canada and let me know what % of the rear window is so that I can match the darkness?

I recommend either FXAuto in Markham, thats where i'm getting my Venza tinted with Ceramic Highperformance Tint ($99) for the front windows.. or you can also consider Audio Heaven in Richmond Hill ($80)

20% should match the rear windows.. but that's dark enough that you might get stopped by police... I'm going with 35%
