So I have a 1993 Geo Prizm, I had just gotten an instrument cluster with the tach, swapped my speedo in (which I'll probably swap out cuz the difference in the color of the needles is driving me crazy), and I was wondering why it was such a pain to get everything in. I realized it was cuz the junkyard car had the tilting steering column. Now when I drive I notice the steering wheel a little in my view. It makes me think maybe I should just swap one in.
Has anyone removed the steering column before? Where is the location where the main/intermediate shafts meet? Can you replace the key cylinder easily, or am I gonna have to deal with the "tapered bolts" with the heads that brake off, and if so, are they a real pain to remove? Is there anything else I need to consider?
I have access to TIS, and it doesn't look that bad, but if it's something I can't finish in a day or so it might not be worth it, it is my daily driver. Any thoughts?
