Hello all,

I’m in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I ordered a 2022 Venza last October.

the sales guy had originally told me January at the latest, that felt like that wsssales tactic. Now when I text him he just keeps saying he has no information on when it may get here. Last month he said mid March but I haven’t heard anything yet so not sure if that’s going to happen

just wondering if anyone knows the actual steps of the build process, like when the dealership should have an eta for the vehicle.
Think I remember someone saying that the dealership is notified when the vin is created.

Thanks.

Sounds like you have run into the same issues when we ordered our 2021 Venza Limited (Blizzard pearl), with the Java/black interior in September 2020. We put $1000 down and was told 6 weeks for delivery. Six weeks came and went and the dealership didn't have a clue of the status of our factory order. Their inquiries to Toyota Canada were ignored so we got our deposit back. It wasn't until I sent emails to both the presidient of Toyota Canada and the president of Toyota in Japan complaining about how they were treating potential Toyota buyers leaving us totally in the dark did we finally get some results. They singled a car out at the assembly line level and basically put our name on it. Still the dealership didn't have a clue when it would arrive until several weeks before it did which was February 2021. At that time the Venzas were just being randomally sent to dealers leaving nothing for buyers to chose from only what was just on the lot. Good luck!

I bought a 2022 Venza Limited in Ottawa on February 9, 2022. On February 22nd was advised that Toyota fulfillment confirms that it's on the Japan production schedule and the ETA here is early May (with current shipping schedules). I am OK with this timeline and hope that it works out.

I am in NY near Rochester. I can only speak on my recent experience. I had a late model Chevrolet Traverse LT which was loaded and a trouble free reliable vehicle which fit my needs perfectly, except for the gas mileage. I made the decision to downsize to a Rav4 Hybrid or new Venza, and the ONLY Toyota dealer that even had one on the lot was 22 miles away. I contacted them, and went to the dealership on Feb. 18th, and only was able to sit in the Venza, to see how it "fit", but couldn't drive it, as it reportedly was sold, and the new owner was taking delivery the next day, a Saturday. I put down a $500 deposit, purchase price was MSRP, and was told it would be 3 to 5 months. Venza was a loaded XLE Blizzard Pearl without the panoramic roof, which I didn't want anyway (personally, I think it's the most useless option you can order!). Late Saturday afternoon, my sales associate called, and told me the person who ordered the Venza backed out of the deal. Didn't test drive it or anything. Just backed out. Did I want it? My actual plan was to hopefully take delivery sometime in spring, early summer, after our nasty winter, but I agreed, as the Venza was exactly optioned like I would have ordered it, with the 12.3 inch media screen and premium JBL audio and black Softex. I purchased it on Feb. 21st, after test driving it and getting a very good trade in on my Traverse. Just wrote a check for the difference. I'm very happy with the Venza, esp with gas prices going through the ceiling. I noticed the dealership had actually taken delivery of the Venza on Feb. 12th. Hmmm. So I got the Venza with no fuss, maybe lucky, maybe it wasn't turned down by an original customer. Don't know, and it doesn't matter. And I have a theory that I may have "jumped the line" over others on the waiting list. Not sure why other than I had a good rapport with a sales manager who is also a military veteran.

I ordered one March 4 2022, so when we were in town with an hour to kill between appointments, we just popped into the dealer to see if he had a status on our order. I wasn’t expecting anything so I was surprised to see, It come up immediately to show it was currently in the production process and is scheduled to be delivered to the dealer between June 14 and June 20 or sooner. He gave us a print out of it. I don’t know why your dealer can’t do the same 🤷‍♀️.

Find a dealer that will sell you the Venza at MSRP. I’m near Rochester, NY, and the sales manager said they are taking the long term view and don’t want to alienate customers by tacking on “extra dealer profit.” I got a very good trade in allowance on a late model suv and wrote a check for the difference. Happy to have a vehicle now that gets great mpg.

I was able to negotiate almost $1,300 overall discount on a Venza with a trade-in, thanks to a good salesperson. I looked around once the first dealer wouldn't budge and mentioned that some dealers may be asking over MSRP. Be prepared and aware of your options. A few hours of effort can yield important savings.

Reading this makes me feel like a lucky man. A year ago I shopped online and found what I wanted, well, I would have preferred the titanium glow for no extra cost, but this one was blizzard pearl, the dealer said it was already offloaded on the West Coast and on the way. About a week later they notified me when it arrived at the dealership. I did it all the contractual paperwork online with them, and I flew to Montana and drove it home. I got it for a few hundreds less than MSRP. I was looking at the car market and seeing that it was going crazy and I figured I better jump on this deal when I did.
Nicest car I've ever owned. The cargo area and the center console could be a little more utilitarian, but that's a minor gripe.
