Warning - Need to Rethink Phone Mount

I had a strange occurrence today. I normally put my iPhone in the rear most cup holder, upside down to expose the lightning port. Today, I put it upside down in the forward cup holder. About 20 minutes into the drive I hear a loud, strange noise and my phone started dialing 911. I hung up and, of course, they called me back to make sure I was okay. It also dialed my wife, who's listed as emergency contact.

What happened is, as I was driving, the phone worked itself lower and lower into the cup holder to the point where both side buttons were depressed. This is the trigger for the emergency call. I've learned my lesson and now I'm looking for a more permanent mount that is still close to the center USB port. I don't relish having cables going everywhere.

This is what I would do but I don't believe the new Camry can do this. I would then look for a sticky dash mount that curves over the dash assuming that would work.

This may be a good option too. I just found they have a mount that is essentially my GPS mount except better(?)...

With newer cars and their technologies, you don't need anything but one cord.

I generally use the rearmost cupholder as described by the OP. When I am with my wife and we need both cupholders, I just put it in the center armrest console.

I use CarPlay 100% of the time when I am driving. I don't need to see or touch the phone while driving. Occasionally, I will have my wife take it out to change artist or album... but rarely.

I never use any of the built in items in the Avalon's entertainment system. I don't even use the built in XM radio in the car because internet streaming XM into my iPhone has better sound fidelity than the satellite radio.
