Bosch Platinums are nasty, drop them in a performance motor and tell me what happens.

I wouldn't run them in a pinto coupe. NGK Coppers are all I'll run in any of my cars unless the manual specifically states otherwise.

jeeves,
are you running copper in the camry??? i'm running them in my 2k1 maxima, and i want to run them in the camry also. let me know if you have a reference number for the plugs.

i run denso plat from toyota in the camry. i have a 93.

i put bosch plat. +2's in my 4 banger 93... they were great for about 1k miles, then started pinging under load like up big hills, or heavy foot driving... anyway, it took 91 octane gas to cure it... i finally gave up on that and used some NGK plats. been fine ever since... (about 15k miles so far)

If Toyota supplied OEM Plat's then that's (OEM) what I'd run in the Camry. Bosch Plat's are notorious for poor performance among Supra owners and I've run them and experienced this. So, I'd try NGK Coppers (Based solely on experience in the Supra) or the OEM Plats personally.

I picked up the Camry no more than 3 weeks ago. I've yet to touch the motor and since it's my daily, I don't plan to mod it at all. So far it's just been general maint. (Oil/Filter change (Mobile High Mileage Synthetic Blend, Tranny Flush/refill, Coolant Flush/refill, etc.)

I've NGK Platinum plugs in my i4. I've tried the Bosch Platinum plugs with the 4 tips on them & didn't care for them too much because they didn't feel right. It sort of felt like my engine was 'hesitating,' & so I switched over to the NGKs & then it was fine.

On my engine, it says something like 'Platinum plugs only.' I've asked people about getting Iridium plugs but they've said not to get them, or that I don't need them. I can't remember what I was told exactly, though. Can anyone tell me when it is proper to have iridium plugs? & why?

i ended up just getting my 1st new set of plugs, my car only has 25k miles on it :D

i got the Denso Iridium plugs as well although i am currently an n/a 4 banger there may be forced induction in my future

now that i have changed the plugs i notice a smoother idle and a nice little "kick" in accelration...now this isn't like monumental changes, i am just in tune/one with my car so when something is different in a good or bad way i notice it.

it may be overkill for me to have the iridiums but i like them a lot so far, well worth the money to me. i got them off ebay for $35 the set :)
