I struggle to find a good solution to mount my Samsung s4 in 2012 Camry. Would you mind to share your solution and ideas? Thanks.

That'll cost you 1 cup holder. Not good for long trip when you and your passenger need coffee.

go to walmart or auto zone and you will find several windshield or a/c vents cell mounts for fairly cheap
he want a good solution, not just any cell mount.

IMO the dash board or windshield mount are all not good. It obstruct your view.

My solution is the sticky pad. Just need to keep it clean and it will stick and hold your cell phone in place. Have to peal the cell phone off since it stick so well.

Mine sits like this

I've seen some very cool phone mounts for iPhone. I know there is a universal "sticky" that uses static cling to attach to virtually anywhere without the giant ugly mount and stand. I just throw my phone in the cup holder.
Edit: While looking for that static cling one I found this. I guess it could work with a samsung too, haven't read on it yet but very minimalistic: http://www.niteize.com/product/Steelie-Car-Mount-Kit.asp

I stick mine in that little storage bin by the armrest... I've been thinking about putting an iphone dock there and routing my charger/USB cord for the radio underneath it and dremeling a little hole there for it to fit through.

cup holder for me. However, I just came a cross one of those anti-slip mats that I'm going to place on top of the clock and center speaker and see how that works out.

The Best Solution I've Seen So Far

I'm very picky about these types of things, and I had some requirements:

  • Can be completely reverted to stock (so no drilling, cutting, etc.)
  • Not mounted to the windshield
  • Mounted high-left on center stack, so even when I'm looking at the phone, the road is always within full (peripheral) view
  • Can be reached without leaning forward (I keep my chair way back)
  • Factory controls not obstructed by mount or hanging wires
  • Modular; could work with any device as needed

I ended up combining a few different mounting products. I routed the wires behind and under interior trim pieces, using adhesive-backed Velcro in one spot to retain the wires.

I used the ProClip vehicle-specific mount to attach to the vent. I attached this Arkon smartphone mount to the ProClip mount, because Arkon mounts are interchangeable with other Arkon holders and have served me well. Additionally, one can use the adapter plate from this Arkon kit along with screws or adhesive to mount basically anything (like a cellphone signal amplifier) to this setup.

This setup does obstruct the dash clock, but my phone shows me the time anyway.

Why do you have a coaxial cable hanging? Lol

or all the wiring dangling tapping against the screen....... that hardly seems like a setup for a "picky" person.

I got the scosche magnetic setup since the Note4 doesnt fit in a single cup holder. HERE keeps the phone sleek and since I suctioned the goose neck in the first cup holder its in a natural position when I lay my arm on the arm rest. theres enough room for the charging cable to plug in and then be tucked away in center console when not needed. And because its magnetic I dont have to fiddle with clamps on and off, I simply drop on or grab and go. granted its for a windshield but since it came with a smooth mounting disk i shaved it down to fit at the bottom of the cup holder and put 3m double stick tape to secure the disk.

I have this. I usually drive by myself so missing one cup holder is not a big deal to me plus I still have one on my door and one in the center console. I have a Note 3 and it fits.

Here's my solution:
http://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-Warranty-Universal-Powerful-Smartphones/dp/B00P2SC6BQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436358451&sr=8-1&keywords=wizgear+magnetic+air+vent+mount

Very simple; very stable; very inexpensive; takes seconds to mount; can be switched car-to-car; highly rated by hundreds of users. Other companies on Amazon market the exact same mount (Wizgear, etc). Just find the best priced vendor.

Been using one in each of my cars now for a few months. Solid mount.
I mounted mine on my left drivers vent. YMMV

I just looked at every suggestion here and can't see myself using any type of mount. Only time I use my phone is if I need the gps, and since I'm always Bluetooth connected, the audio is more than enough to get me to where I need to go. If I need to look at my phone for any reason in that time, I usually just lean it up against the door of the compartment below the screen. It stands there just fine for me.
