When will the 2022 Venza be released/announced?

Any ideas when the 2022 Venza will be released? We are on the fence if we should purchase one now or wait until the new one is released. Our local dealer does not have the exact model (Celestial Black, Limited, Java interior) we want and mentioned that it could be 2-3 months before they can get it in stock if we put a deposit.

Is there usually any big changes for the following year models? Does Toyota have a typical release timeline or has that completely changed with chip shortage?

Also,

go on www.buyatoyota.com to see your region's inventory. Do this about once or twice a month

Once the combo is in there... go to www.autotrader.com to figure out which dealership has it. Then go to the dealership to snatch the car.

You can always go to your dealer and request a factory order to your liking (Choose the options you want and none you don't). Right now without that much stock, you can "buy" before it comes in.

Venza is a new model for 2021, I wouldn't expect any significant changes for 2022 other than minor refinements. Toyota generally makes only insignificant changes year-to-year and saves the major changes for the "facelift" years 3 years into the model before the complete revamp at 5-6.
If you want a specific model/color, I'd not hesitate to order it.

Addition of TSS 2.5 and fog lights would make sense, particularly if the fog connections are already on the North American harness.

It would be very nice if they added those two features.

The 2021 Toyota Highlander added TSS 2.5 after just being redesigned in 2020 with TSS 2.0. If I remember correctly, the main thing it added was left turn intersection emergency braking.
