Hi there. I can not find the transmission dip stick in my 2009 Highlander (basic model). Does it even have a dip stick for the transmission? Does anyone know the location of the dip stick? Thank you so much.

At some point, Toyota has switched to "sealed" transmissions on most vehicles, which has no dipstick and has what they claim is "lifetime" ATF. I don't know what year they made the switch, but you can check the owner's manual. You can download the owner's manual from the Toyota website.
On my 2011 3.5 the dipstick is on the right side of the motor if you're facing it from the front of the car. Look between the motor and the air intake duct. It's sits lower than the oil dipstick and is black.
6 cyl has diptick with 5 speed
4 cyl does not with 6 speed
