I am installing the aftermarket head unit and I tried to get the steering wheel control work but no luck. I am using the Android head unit so with my understanding, I don't need a module to get them work. I am stuck with the color of those wire. Can you guy help me with the red circle in the picture below. I believe that for the steering wheel but so many wire than I found at the steering wheel unit. thanks

I can't remember which ones you need to tap into, what I did was purchase the Metra 70-8114 Steering Wheel Control Wire Harness with RCA. You shouldn't need the Axxess module but, for me it made it easier to connect the steering wheel controls. There should be three wires coming from the harness two are for the wheel controls and one ground if I remember they are grouped together and the ground should be easy to spot so it just leaves the two SW wires. You may have to swap the two SW control wires if they don't work the first time. Also, the harness has the RCA connectors that will restore your AUX port.

Very helpful for me. thanks again. However, I decided to get a multimeter to check the continuity of wire from the steering wheel because when I removed the switch component. I connected to my head unit and it worked perfectly. Now just trace for those wire from the connector behind the steering wheel's air bag. Anyway, I should finish it and post to the forum how I did it.

Hi - I'm stuck with the same challenge. I've found some other info online but the color of the wiring is throwing me. I expected black for the ground, not pink striped. My wiring on a 2011 camry for my teen is exactly as you have pictured. Do you remember if it was like this pink/gray = ground, brown/gray = steering control 1 and then yellow/gray = steering control 2?
