Hey everyone!

Recently had my 09 S stolen so I bought a 2020 SE.

I've pulled apart some of the dash to check out the audio situation and I'm at a loss as to identifying wires.

From the speaker wire harness you have two purple and to pink, then a series of light purple with stripes: black, Green, yellow and blue.

Door speakers are 6.5 in size.

Just looking for more info as I am interested in an aftermarket amp and speakers while retaining the factory radio. Feel free to share audio discovery here.

If your sedan has a speaker in the rear deck, it should be straight forward. I had a sub&amp installed in my ES with 12V feed directly from the battery, and it was sensing off of a rear speaker with splice into a wire there through the trunk. Amp was mounted to the back of the rear seat and sub sat in the trunk...

Otherwise if it is like hatch, with speakers only in doors w dash tweeters, I will be tapping into the rear door speaker wires most likely under the seats...

Well the car is so new I haven't seen much material about it. I had to take off the door paneling to determine the speaker size. No place online has indicated those dimensions.

I did some testing with the factory radio to determine which plugs controlled what so I know which one outputs audio.

Something new with 20s at least in the sedan body is that there are no longer rear deck speakers, just a hole for the JBL subwoofer when you go with the audio plus package.

o_O oh wow you did that to spanking new car...and you did it w/o published service info ?
The lock actuator in my old Acura went out and from the service manual it looked like a big pain-in-the-neck job to pull open the panel so I didn't bother with it.

Today I installed a sub into mine - hello bass (aka base :geek: )!!! The wires in the B-pillar are pink and purple for the speaker if you want to use them for audio sensing...

So I did end up upgrading my audio, well I paid someone to do the work an it took them a lot of troubleshooting and research to figure out how to work with the front speakers. Stuck with the factory radio. Easiest option at this point.

They made the splice after the bluetooth/phone modules. There's a series of connectors the front speaker wires go through. They got the schematics but they were not so accurate.

JL speakers all around and sw
Kenwood Excelon amp
Kicker Front Row DSP

I'm pretty satisfied but for my personal taste I'm going to adjust some of the crossovers. Just too much low-end spectrum for my tastes with the music I listen to.

Check out tacotunes.com they make a complete color coded harness that plugs into the back of your factory stereo and hass 11foot lead wires so you can wire in subs and amps without having to cut into you factory harness or wires on ur new car!!! i just did it with my 2020 corolla sedan!!! its simple and easy ifneed to goo back to stock for warranty purposes it simple just un plugging the harness. Ull have to look up the 2020 camry harness wich will also work for the 2020 corolla sedan

i was a little peeved when i noticed no rear speakers but you have rear speak controls. i'm fairly pleased with the sound it produces i would like a little more bass and certainly more sound in the rear for the passengers, although that isn't a deal breakers since that is like 1% of the time. i talked to an audio shop they wanted 1k for a replacement. and i'm not about to pull my new car apart. im not nearly as brave as you sir.

Both rear speakers are purple(+) and pink(-), it changes to Lavender/Purple stripe(+) and Lavender/Pink stripe(-) at the speakers. RL uses pins 3 & 8 and RR uses pins 4 & 9 on the head-unit speaker connector (black 10 pin connector). For reference, pin1 FR+ (Lavender/Yellow stripe) and pin6 FR- (Lavender/Black stripe).

I've seen a few Alpine head units look exactly the same style as our corolla unit, but I am not quite sure if they plug &play replacements and they are quite expensive. But I also like our head unit as they have volume knob control that most of the aftermarket don't.

I think I have to get an amp and speakers installed by the car stereo shop. They told me it costs $450 AUD just for the installation of the speakers, it costs more than the cost of the speakers :sneaky:
