:welcome: to TN! I wouldn't think it would have a battery, but I don't have one to look at. I think it would be more likely that the display quit. If its dark can you see it? How about if you turn on the headlights? I am sure someone who has one will chime inn.
There is no battery in the clock, it gets constant power from the car battery. If it doesn't keep time, you need to start checking fuses, or perhaps the connector/wiring going to the clock or the clock itself is defective.
How old is your car battery, whats the condition of it?
I ask because I had a van that lost all the preset radio stations and time on the radio clock sometimes after starting it up. Turns out the battery was on the way out and it had just enough to start but no reserve power.
Its a new car battery but some auto mechanic from auto zone told me to find the specific battery for the clock but if its the fuse I can see whats up. .. yes it just changes times everytime I turn off the engine.
Thx for responding all definitely leave a thanks badge l8r
When you crank, the battery voltage is pulled down, way down (6-7V, IIRC).
If you have a tired battery (and even brand new batteries can be defective
and tired), it can go lower than that, and be too low to run the clock.
The first thing I would do is have the battery checked, esp. under load.
