It didn’t help me with my 2015 highlander. Didn’t have it put on my 2019. Dealership agreed.

 

Depends. Helped me with my 2017 on the passenger side. There's a pretty significant ding on the molding there, which could be even worse if there was a painted surface. Did not help with the driver side, although the ding is pretty high up (door handle level).

 

Not worth it.

 

I prefer door edge protectors. If your vehicle is gonna get a dent, nothing is gonna stop that.

 

To some extend effective against other car's front doors as most of them are with fairly straight edge (I got one from someone who parked next to me and with the wind, so the wind basically pulled his door wide open - dented the molding, patched it with a little plastic filler and touch-up paint); Not so with people's rear door coming at ya, especially with that tip of wheel well arch... Best to park further from the crowd...

I just purchased a 2019 Highlander and am debating about adding after market body side moldings to protect against door dings.

FWIW....Side molding isn't very effective, but think its better than nothing. Lots of pros/cons + old threads using advanced search..key words..body side molding. Good luck on what ever u decide.

 

I had to park at the hospital on and off for the last 2 years with my wife's illness. And I can see a few saves here and there. So I would do again. I have both the moldings and the edge protectors. I have one good crunch on one edge protector. But it's hard to see.

I find it to be very effective. The molding is in a good location on the Highlander. Anyone who says it's not effective probably doesn't have it. It may not stop all dings but catches most in my experience. Well worth the money and looks good too. So far all my dings are on the molding, easy touch up.

 

I love them, saves dings.. and if u get enough dings... and u will, just replace the moulding..
