CD player is really jammed!

The CD player in my 98 Camry has had issues with jamming (it's the dash unit with the 3 disc cartridge). I have been able to get it out before, but not anymore. It's jammed and stuck on one disc, won't play the other 2 and won't come out. What are my options for replacing it? Can I replace with another out of another year Toyota? Any after market options? And, would it be possible to just unhook the CD player and install a jack and use my iPhone for music?
Thanks.

Try pulling the stereo fuse for about 60 seconds and put it back. See if it comes out then. I had a stock stereo with a disc inside that wouldn't play or eject resetting it fixed it.

You cannot just insert any random Toyota stereo inside because it depends on the setup you have. Pull out the stereo and post up a photo of the back of it if you can. Also after about 2003 all the toyota stereos came with different size faces.

Aftermarket options -- there are an infinite number of solutions. Name a price...

Thanks for all the input guys. A friend suggested just unhooking the CD unit and get an adapter that will plug into the headphone jack on my iPhone and has 2 RCA jacks on the other end. Plug that into back of head unit where CD player hooks in and be done with the CD player. Does this sounds feasible?

if you can find someone who makes it or look at my thread on how to put one in your self and hijack the tape deck

i could say try to get her to eject and pull it out pull it apart and reoil/greese the tracks and stuff you can get a few more years out of her

I have the same car and TBH getting the cd player out is a BREEZE! You can just pop off the outer cover of the cdplayer/heat/storage compartment area then its just four "star" bolts (can undo these with a hex head). I bought a kenwood at bestbuy (was out of state and wasnt bout to drive 12 hours without a radio and used the wire harness that I had from my previous kenwood. 15 mins and BOOM operation cd player. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Like said, if youre content with the three CDs, pull it out, pop a few case screws off and clean and grease it with real light lube (bicycle cable grease?), often times its simple mechanical fix.

If the factory unit actually has RCA's that could do the iPond thing for you tho!

Then again a new H/U drops in quick and offers lots cool functions too. I've got Pioneer DEH-6100-BT which does hands free Blue tooth (required in this state). . . It was about $175 for everything. Has a USB front port for pods and memory sticks.
+ an 8gig memory stick plays a whole-lotta music compared to leaving $200 Pod in the car.

thanks for the tip on how to get the bezel off. it was really easy once that was off. i have yet to take the CD player apart to get CD's out and try to un-jam the cartridge though.

i like the idea of an after market unit. is there an adapter cord so i don't have to splice a bunch of wires for the wiring harness if i go that route?

Personally, I prefer either Pioneer or Clarion, but you can go with any major name brand. Look around on crutchfield.com. enter your car's info, specify a price range, and it'll give you what they carry in that range. If you order from them, they'll give you the adapter harness specific to your car for free.

I've had grate luck with Pioneer H/U's. Like 5 years of 100% CD/MP3 playing and not glitch one.

The only grip I have on this is that if you reach to change volume and hit a bump you MAY change tracks. lol Knob is sensitive!

I think perhaps the idea of just getting a replacement Toyota CD player and plugging it in would be good. I don't have alot of time right now... Here are the pics of my current Radio/CD player.

I have looked for the 3 CD units like the one I have, but have not found many, and the ones I have found are too expensive ($80+). So, is it possible to use one of these players I have found for sale on ebay? I believe they are single CD units. But that would be alright with me. Would they plug into my radio and work without any modifications?
