Basically, because adding memory to the doors unlocking after shifting would require adding more logic and programming into the ECU, which is a very low priority for something very few people will notice, and even fewer who will care.

 

That can be changed with Techstream. Either you for cheap or dealer for $$$$$! 🤷‍♀️

 

Because this is as normal as Toyota can get for default settings. If there is no option in the display, the only way to change those door lock settings is in Techstream or Carista.

It does have options to control that behavior, but Only the two options I mentioned that are related to this topic. There is not an option to change whether the Auto Unlock from shifting into park unlocks one or all doors.

 

Logic assumes that driver is getting in and out of the vehicle at the same time as passengers. It does not take into account Uber/Lyft situations when driver stays and passengers are getting in and out of the car that is still running...

 

Nissan does the same thing on all their vehicles.
