I broke the bolt on my engine air filter...2007 Toyota Camry LE 4cylinder....I called the dealer and the bolt does not come separate. Instead you have to order a whole new air filter cover piece. Does anyone know the size of the bolt or any sites i could buy one?

appreciate it..thanks

I pulled one off my air box looking for a replacement. The washer that the bolt goes through is actually connected on there, which holds the pieces together in that slot on the air box. IIRC the bottom of the bolt is unthreaded and the threading starts about half way up. I bought a whole set of metric washers/bolts trying to find one that fit but had no luck.
Have any of you that are saying to measure the bolt actually looked at it? It is not a normal bolt that you can find in a hardware store.

The OEM torque value for that bolt is less than four foot pounds so don't do a Godzilla number on them when you replace the filter element. Snug them down using only the top of the ratchet in the palm of your hand. It doesn't take much to affect a seal if the element is installed correctly. Be sure the top back lugs of the cover are engaged and that the cover indexes with the housing. When installing small fasteners, less is always the best practice. Or if you are going to work on your vehicle yourself, purchase a good foot pound and inch pound torque wrench and use them.Regards
