Hello guys! have a question regarding to 2020 Avalon limited model. does Avalon have a electric fold in mirrors feature?? my friend's bmw series 3 does. thanks

Looking at pictures of the Avalon, by the time you need to fold side mirrors you are already hitting whatever you are close to. As long as you understand the difference in body width to side mirror width I find it relatively hard for someone to "accidentally" hit them or for you to hit a wall with them.

To me the fold in mirrors decrease the chances of the cars next to you opening their doors into the mirrors and damaging them, especially in close parking spaces. The auto function is a convenience feature and certainly makes it easier when it is time to drive away.

Toyota also sets feature levels availability by model, for instance, you can't buy a Camry at any trim level, with memory seats, at least not from Toyota.

Kind of like the no we don't have a power seat for the front passenger in any trim level of the RAV 4 (at least through the 2018 model year).

I'm 5' 11" and my wife is a tall 5' 2", so these kind of features or lack of them is important to us, and one of the deal breakers on particular models/brands..

I have folding mirrors on my XT5. Never use them. As depicted above, folding mirrors aren't needed on the G5 Avalon because the mirrors don't extend beyond the side of the car. Folding mirrors are needed on trucks and larger SUVs where the mirrors do extend beyond the side of the vehicle. Much prefer Toyota bring back rain sensing wipers and other useful functions that they deleted from G4 to G5. How about deleting the sunroof or making it an option. I also never use it.

Instead of speculation, can someone with a 2020 Limited confirm what type of mirrors the car has. I just ordered a limited and the specification states " Color-keyed heated power outside mirrors with turn signal and blind spot
warning3 indicators, memory features and driver's-side auto-dimming feature".
So I fully expected the mirrors to fold when I lock the car, just like on my BMW and Genesis. I nice feature of this is that it confirms visually that the car is locked.

They do not fold in automatically, the motor necessary is not included in the Avalon. You can get it if you buy a 2020 Lexus ES350, for about $5K more. You can fold them in manually, which makes them folding mirrors.

I haven't compared, but the last model year Venza had the folding mirrors like the picture you showed, maybe the Venza would also have just the door trim panel, that could provide a place for the switch that would fit?

AliExpress Link

This is available but there is no place to put the switch. I've been searching to try to find that switch panel for the Chinese version but can't even find a part number.
