Questions about intelligent parking assist

Hey everyone! I bought my Highlander without intelligent parking assist. I thought I do not need parking assist at the very beginning. However, now my community becomes more and more overcrowded and I have to do parallel parking. Since I haven't been using this skill for quite some time, I got really frustrated.

Could you please tell me whether it is possible to install intelligent parking assist at a dealership? Will they send my car back to Toyota factory to add this feature?

Well, if it is impossible to get aftermarket parking assist installed, then I should relearn the skill at some weekend.

It has a back-up camera ,right?
Grab some orange traffic cones at home depot and spend sometime in an empty parking lot, it's not that difficult!
No, it won't go back to Toyota.
Yes it has a back-up camera. Thank you for the advice, that may be helpful for practicing parallel parking.

There's no way to install the Toyota factory park assist after the car is manufactured.

There are probably aftermarket solutions that the dealer may be able to sell you and install.
Oh, then I guess I should ask the dealership if I can get aftermarket things like sensors. Thanks!

All these automatic helpers just keep people from learning how to drive well. Take a day to practice parallel parking. It doesn't take long, but you never will learn without trying. Get a good driver to coach you while you practice.
Thanks. I guess it won't take a long time.

I'm a bit confused about what Toyota means by "intelligent parking assist". There's this video of a Corolla parking itself:

Is that what we're talking about? Will my 2022 Highlander Platinum be able to do that?
Yes, that is the intelligent parking assist. Thanks for the video.

I guess this feature is added based on request before the vehicle comes out of the Toyota factory. I am gonna ask my dealership to find out more details.

Good catch. I didn't pick up on the distinction for "intelligent". I was only thinking about the Park Assist sensors. Highlander does not have Intelligent Park Assist (car parks itself) even as a factory item.

I've heard of aftermarket sonar (distance) sensors, but not an aftermarket system that will park the car.

I've got a platinum that has the parking assist features and it graphically shows on the screen where I am getting close to an object and also beeps faster and faster as I get closer to the object. It is a useful feature to me to get really close to objects in the garage and I would doubt you could add this as an afterthought, there is too much hardware and software for Toyota to offer.
