Hello guys/gals...im new here, joined literally 5 minutes ago. So im having trouble finding a shifter for my 93 camry. Ive looked everywhere and no luck, all the dealers have discontinued them. So when i bought the car, the guy cut the shifter to make a "short thrower " and he cut it way to short, and its uncomfortable to drive. So my question to yall is there another shifter i can use from another car?...corolla, celica ect...Any help will be much appreciated

-Thanks in advance

https://www.megazip.net/ About $150.00 Or you could take your snifter to a welding/machine shop and have them lengthen it.

Your cheapest option is to buy a ridiculously long aftermarket shift knob and stick it onto your shifter to bring it back to stock-ish height.
No, the other cars you mentioned have different shifters. The Celica one will be little shorter and I believe will work - some people use the Celica as a "short shifter" in the Camry. Stock Camry shifter is way too long in my opinion. When I had the short shfter on my Gen4 5spd, other people that drove my car thought it was a stock shifter because the short shifter felt perfect.

The reason your shifter is uncomfortable (beside the previous owner not knowing what they were doing) is that proper short shifters actually have LONGER shift rods below the pivot, not shorter parts that stick out and the knob goes onto. That's why with some short shifters you need spacers to raise the base. It's called short shifter because the shift throws are shorter, not because the shift rod itself is shorter. The more you know...
