Anyone ever attempt or know what will be needed to swap the v6 into a 2012 le or if the engine will fit in the engine bay.

It fits, since the V6 was an option in the car. Probably need engine, transmission, wiring harness, engine/transmission electronics, at a minimum.
I'm trying to imagine the level of commitment needed to make that happen!

The parts are all there in the donor car, but that wiring, ugh.

In the end, the car would only be legal to drive ...where?

Can't really say that the parts would fit, either, since it's not like the V6 engine is a dealer-installed option. The two car's bodies could have different weldment features that might be significant and which probably aren't documented anywhere in the public realm.

There might be aftermarket support for making certain conversions easier for track use, but probably not for a Camry and definitely not for street use in most states.

I like how they built the NASCAR V-8 Camry (but the car did turn out ugly imo).

I don't think there's a legality issue with it. The engine won't match the VIN. But, people swap engines in cars all the time.

You'd need to set down with the parts list and look at things like the subframe, engine mounts, axles, springs, radiator, exhaust, fuel delivery, emissions, accessories (AC, PS, alt), etc and see what's different. Honestly, it'd be cheaper to trade it in for a V6.

A NASCAR V8 Camry is a Camry in name only. NASCAR stopped using real cars decades ago.
