Performance upgrades for the v6 Camry?

I am wondering if there is a list of suppliers and which parts are recommended for a 2011 v6 Camry? I saw the thread about the weapon R throttle controllers, but I am thinking serious upgrades like twin or sequential turbos or super chargers, performance injectors, fuel pumps, fuel system upgrades, Class V transmission upgrades, etc. Not just a cold air intake and throttle controller.

And then I would need some installers that are recommended on the east coast (NC) that can do the installation and programming of the computer. Apparently TRD dosen't consider the Camry something people would want to upgrade other than a set of ugly rims.

Are you looking to make it a show car of sorts, or trying to really get performance (hp, torque, suspension) out of it? The Camry is not really geared for delivering oomph - but you can trick it out to make it look pretty nice. There is a thread around somewhere where someone has done some serious body work, engine face-lifts and such to make it sure look nice. Modding is fun, so if that's your poison have fun and let us see how it goes! But I don't think you'll get much performance return on investment out of it - just that cool feeling of doing it.

Honestly, CAI's are pretty worthless in these cars unless the OP is serious about turbo/supercharging. We already have a CAI, so to speak, as the scoop near the front of the hood pulls in cold air. We're also a bit short on the tuning department too since there never really was a huge interest in tuning them due to the locked ECU, although it was cracked so you can probably ask the tuners (e.g. OrangeVirus or RR-Racing) if they can offer a tune for you.

Lighter rims for weight reduction, sway bars for better handling are some things to consider. Just need to remember that serious work needs to be done to unslouch the Camry (which you already understand it looks like), even if it's the 2GR-FE. FWD wheelhop will suck with more power as well.

The 2GR-FE. I wouldn't say there is much horsepower to be added unless a supercharger is installed, but with money there is always a way. With that being said I'll give out suggestions.

Start with fuel, since you share the same motor with the ES/RX350 you can always upgrade to 93 octane. Depending on how much more extra money you want to spend on fuel. I'd personally convert your fuel system to E85 but I don't know your gas pump situation. Next is intakes. Replace/delete all the extra baffles and tubing and don't throw away the actual OEM air box, that is essential for efficiency. The baffles are there to muffle sound so that driver can't hear induction noise, deleting that will create a more direct path.

Next is intake manifold tuning. You could possible get a Dremel and bore out the plastic manifold for small hp gains.

Injectors. You can experiment and try 2GR-FSE or 2GR-FKS injectors from your Lexus counterparts and see if that will increase horsepower aswell. Apparently 2JZ-GE injectors will fit on a 1MZ or 3MZ-FE motor just fine and increases horsepower.

Exhaust system. All bolt ons to change on how your car gets rid off exhaust gases, start with headers and work your way down.

Tune. Get a tune to compensate for any modifications, otherwise you'll be driving a restricted motor. Good luck.
